Why is it?

Every time I think I will get some sewing done something always gets in the way. I have been getting into technology a bit lately. I have been reading about some of these technical things which has created in me the desire to learn how to work things properly, like my new mobile phone that has internet capabilities. I think I will just try to do this or that; the next thing you know I have spent most of the day playing around trying to get things to work, only to find that there is a problem with the carrier. Or like when I think I must work out what my iPod is capable of doing. Again, I find that I have spent the morning just looking at iTunes and not getting anything else done. Today has been one of these kind of days. Well, tomorrow I am going to get some sewing done! Famous last words.

As I said in my last post I would put up some photos of Margaret McDonald's quilts she exhibited at the 'Quilts in the Barn'. These are just a few of the photos I took.

This one is all hexagons with some pieces fussy cut.

An example of some of her applique work. One day I will do something like this.

A mariners compass, gorgeous! I have a thing for mariner's compass and it is on my to-do-list.

I'm having a blank as to the name of this block, but it is all hand pieced. Just wonderful.

And another example of her stunning work.

I had a great day at the exhibition and thank Margaret for allowing me to post some photos of her quilts to share with you all.

  1. All the quilts are beautiful, the pattern you forgot is Rose Dream or Lovers knot. Bet you knew that. Margaret is a very talented and versatile quilter.

  2. Thanks Janet. I did know it. I haven't heard the name Rose Dream before. I know it as Lover Knot.

  4. Fabulous quilts! I know how the time flies! I am going to my sewing room and get something done, but between computer and house work is hard to fit sewing time!

    Happy sewing!

  5. Beautiful quilts , Margaret is an amazing quilter.
I think this is wonderful that Linda Collins hosts this quilt show each year for charity. I sure wish I could be there for next year when Di Ford will be displaying her quilts along with her sewing group ladies.
now don't we all wish we were in that group?
